Brent completed degrees in Kinesiology and Education from Queen’s University. Over the past 30 years, he has expanded his expertise by pursuing post-graduate courses in life care planning, ergonomics, functional assessment, and disability management. Brent has worked with a diverse range of employers, focusing on ergonomics, injury prevention, and disability management programs.
In addition to his individual work, Brent has made a significant impact by opening a multidisciplinary clinic in the early 1990s that grew to encompass six sites, staffed by over 65 clinicians. These dedicated professionals included physiotherapists, kinesiologists, occupational therapists, counselors, and physicians, all working together to provide comprehensive care for their clients.
Brent’s projects have included small-scale department and workstation evaluations as well as the development of a nationwide ergonomics program for the National Seafood Sector Council. He has carried out over 3,000 Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) for both Plaintiff and Defense Counsel, demonstrating his proficiency in this important area. In addition, he performs Cost of Care Assessments and provides review and critique services for cross-examination.
As a dedicated instructor in Functional Capacity Evaluation, Brent imparts his knowledge and experience to providers throughout the country. The Supreme Court of British Columbia recognizes him as an expert witness in functional evaluation, cost of care assessment, and disability relating to work.
