Physiotherapy

Reduce pain and get you moving again.

The support I’ve received in the way of physiotherapy and counselling through SNC has been invaluable to my healing and recovery from pain. Each practitioner I’ve seen has gone the extra mile to support and teach/educate me as well as provide me with resources to be empowered to continue my growth and learning in the realm of dealing with chronic pain and trauma.

Sub Treatments in Physiotherapy

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body to stimulate the flow of energy and promote healing.

Acupuncture is one of the many skills employed by physiotherapy to treat a variety of conditions, such as musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, arthritis, sports injuries, headaches, and stress. Acupuncture in conjunction with physiotherapy is very effective in enhancing recovery, restoring balance and helping to improve your quality of life and well-being.

IMS/Dry Needling of Trigger Points

Intramuscular stimulation (IMS) is a technique that physiotherapists use to treat chronic or recurrent muscle pain caused by nerve irritation or dysfunction.

IMS involves inserting very fine needles, similar to those used in acupuncture, into tight or shortened muscles that are connected to malfunctioning nerves. By stimulating the muscles with needles, IMS aims to restore normal nerve function, relax the muscles and relieve pain. IMS is based on scientific principles and requires specialized training and certification for physiotherapists who practice it.

What To Expect

Our goal is to reduce pain and get you moving again! Our physiotherapists bring extensive experience and skills in treating a variety of injuries, from muscular strains and sprains, ICBC injuries, to specialized neurological injuries and conditions such as concussions.

Our physiotherapists have also completed extra education in pain management, soft tissue treatment, training in utilizing NDT (neurodevelopmental treatment) and Bobath techniques. These techniques involve in-depth knowledge of human movement patterns and expertise in analyzing postural control, movement, and activity.

Each client begins with a comprehensive assessment of their injuries and symptoms. From what your physiotherapist identifies in your assessment, a customized treatment plan will be created for you to work towards achieving your goals.

We treat symptoms such as muscle pains and injuries, balance issues, nausea, head injuries, and neurological conditions such as dystonia and post-stroke.
